**Responsibilities**:
The role will develop and implement investor relations and communication strategy and plans, including resources, systems, timescales, and financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate the organization’s annual business plan and long-term strategy. The role also encompasses the oversight of the role of Corporate Sustainability.
The key function is to fully understand the strategic direction of the Group and to manage the communication of the corporate direction of the Group to the internal and external stakeholders via the IR and Communications functions.
Under the Sustainability role, the Group works within the ESG framework for sustainability and our role is to advise and guide the Sustainability Committee to ensure that the initiatives undertake stay within the framework and maximizes the positive impact the Group makes towards building a sustainable business model.
- To positively support and contribute to the identified Corporate KPIs via the department’s reporting line function the CFO.
- Primary contact point for analysts and investors and equity stakeholders of the Group. This includes day to day contact with investors and presentation of the Group at key investor conferences.
- Primary contact point for all media. This includes dealing with media enquiries and writing all media releases and external announcement.
- Accountable for management of reputation for the organisation; identifying and prioritising emerging and reacting to developing issues and handling in a timely fashion.
- Providing information to enable effective peer comparisons and client management.
- Input on all major external communications - media, stakeholders, shareholders, copywriting, etc.
- Communication of key strategic plans and results to external parties.
- Budgetary responsibility - to pre-approved operating budget and finding efficiencies and maximising value.
- Sustainability - ensuring the Committee maximises the effectiveness of the approved Sustainability budget to gain the best ESG mileage.
- Managing the corporate reputation in any negative situations or weak markets.
- Managing challenging situations in terms of industry, business or speculation.
- Day to day interaction with investment funds and analysts and dealing with potential scenario impacts.
- Awareness of financial position, market expectations and impact of variations - reputation and expectations.
- Managing media relations, existing stakeholders and establishing new investor networks.
- Working with bankers on potential new opportunities - business, funding, equity, investors,etc.
- Risk awareness of the businesses and potential impact to the Corporate.
- Needs analysis - funding, capability, resources, etc and ability to communicate with stakeholders.
- Crisis management awareness - roles and responsibilities in a crisis with regards to all communications - proactive and reactive situations.
- Writing skills on media releases and announcements.
- Working within the requirements of the Regulator (Bursa) requirements.
- The main competitors that are similar companies in the segment that are attempting to attract investors and investment from the same funds.
- The Company needs to maintain a high degree of reputational management from both an operational and financial perspective. This includes, but not limited to, a clear strategy, operational capability, financial predictability and total returns, whether financial or growth.
- Awareness of major events that could impact the Company’s reputation or significantly impact the financial results of the Company, and therefore the expectations of investors.
- Operations risks and impacts. Significant reputational and financial impact to the Group.
- Awareness of all risk exposures to the business and clear messaging required to limit the long-term impact to the Group.
- Degree/professional history in related field as well as communications experience in similar role.
- Relevant (Minimum ** years of experience as head of IR in a listed entity).
- Leadership and ability to articulate the corporate vision and translate that into effective strategic communication plans.
- Strong strategic and commercial judgment with regards to communication skills.
- Experience in equity analysis and communications as well as knowledge in the stock exchange regulations, market expectations and investor engagement.
- Overview of global markets, key industry drivers and pressure points (eg. Oil price, currency, global political status, etc).
- Experience in crisis management and communications (may not be segment related).
- Overview of corporate sustainability and ability to integrate initiatives with corporate strategy.
