We are seeking a talented and dedicated Kitchen Assistant cum Manager to oversee our kitchen operations at Designer Cats Café. As the Kitchen Assistant cum Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the kitchen, maintaining high culinary standards, and delivering outstanding dining experiences to our guests. This position requires a combination of culinary skills, kitchen management expertise, and a passion for creating delicious meals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to menu specifications and quality standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain stock rotation to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
- Create and update menus, recipes, and cooking procedures in collaboration with the head chef and management team.
- Monitor food costs, portion sizes, and recipe yields to optimize profitability while maintaining food quality.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and hygiene practices.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including equipment maintenance, sanitation, and waste management.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food orders, special requests, and guest satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints related to food quality or service issues, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to inspire menu innovation and creativity.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or similar position.
- Strong culinary skills with a passion for creating and presenting delicious and visually appealing dishes.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, kitchen management principles, and inventory control procedures.
- Leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and guide kitchen staff to achieve culinary excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Passion for cats and a friendly, welcoming attitude towards guests and fellow team members.
