Job Description: Accounts Assistant
**Position Summary**
The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the hotel's finance operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of the hotel's operations.
**Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & Receivable**
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring proper authorization and timely payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and address any discrepancies or queries.
- Issue invoices to clients and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
- Conduct regular reviews of aged debtors and follow up on outstanding payments.
**Financial Reporting & Reconciliation**
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
- Collaborate with auditors during financial and tax audits.
**Cash Handling & Revenue Management**
- Monitor daily cash transactions and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Reconcile daily sales reports with actual receipts and investigate any variances.
- Ensure all revenue streams are accurately recorded and reported. (The Grafton)
**Administrative Support**
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Respond to internal and external financial inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and procedures.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE, Opera, Micros) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Preferred Experience**
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality accounting environment.
- Familiarity with hotel-specific financial systems and procedures.
- Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the hospitality industry
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
