Assistant Manager

**Position**: Assistant Manager - Logistics (Night Shift)
**Reports To**: Regional Manager - Strategic Account
**Team Size**: 40+ Headcounts
**Location**: Persiaran Raja Muda Musa, Klang, Selangor
**Working Hours**: 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night Shift, 5-day work week)
**Salary Range**: RM4,500 - RM6,000 + RM800 Night Shift Allowance

**About the Role**

We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on **Assistant Manager - Logistics (Night Shift)** to oversee daily operational functions, manage a large team, and ensure service levels meet internal and external expectations. This highly visible role plays a key part in supporting cross-functional leaders and driving continuous improvement in logistics performance and customer service delivery.

You will report directly to the **Regional Manager - Strategic Account** and be responsible for a night-shift operations team of over 40 people. **Key Responsibilities**
- Report operational issues, escalations, and updates to the Regional Manager on a regular basis.
- Oversee all booking, Bill of Lading, and documentation functions for the assigned region.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members in both technical and soft skills.
- Implement and continuously improve operational policies, SOPs, and compliance procedures.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and operational issues promptly.
- Maintain courteous and professional communication with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Plan and monitor staffing schedules, ensuring optimal manpower allocation.
- Maintain workload balance and ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within KPIs.
- Supervise team performance and conduct regular evaluations and training where needed.
- Track and monitor daily documentation and booking reports.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to share knowledge and support process improvements.

**Requirements**:
**Education & Experience**:

- Minimum Diploma or Degree in any discipline
- At least 3-5 years of experience in **freight forwarding**, **logistics**, or **international supply chain**:

- Experience working in a **shared service center** or centralized operations
- Familiarity with **Lean Management** practices is an added advantage

**Technical & Leadership Skills**:

- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities
- Project management and process improvement experience
- Strong interpersonal and stress-handling skills
- Hands-on, proactive, and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving
- Ability to lead large teams (40+ headcounts) and manage shift operations independently
- Effective communicator with strong relationship-building skills across cultures and departments
- Comfortable working night shifts and aligning with **U.S. time zones**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics systems/tools
