Assistant Maintenance Manager

**Overview**:
Responsible for managing workshop activities, closely follow up external workshop for machineries repair/overhaul works, leading plant turnaround planning and execution for instrumentation section, lead maintenance engineering project, and assume the responsibility to develop and maintain training plan for the instrumentation team to achieve high performance team level.
- Work with respective stakeholders to maximize planned downtime over unplanned downtime. Effort shall be taken place to meet best in class result benchmarked from recognize standard and global industry.
- Plan and schedule workshop activities with maintenance planner, ensuring reasonable level of backlog.
- Implement Turnaround and Shutdown Management System, meeting an agreed target.
- Coordinating with mechanical team, ensure appropriate response time for maintenance support services e.g. scaffolding erection, crane availability, insulation readiness, etc.
- Ensure calibration validity for field instrumentation and the master calibrator
- Maintenance Execution by ensuring high quality of workmanship, zero rework, adherence to maintenance procedures, reasonable mean time to repair (MTTR) and following appropriate engineering technical practices including QAQC requirement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices in maintenance operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Providing leadership and guidance to maintenance teams, including technicians and contractors, to ensure they perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Ensure good compliance in completing maintenance and repair checklists.
- Lead the Instrumentation Team on all plant turnaround and shutdown. Work closely with Sr. Maintenance Engineer and planner for effective planning and smooth execution.
- Support Maintenance Supervisor - Instrumentation in effectively executing critical maintenance activities involving high pressure and high temperature field instrumentation and high maintenance spending activity including executing the - maintenance with regards to the inspection findings from respective Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance Tasks.
- Develop, update, and maintain maintenance procedures, checklists, and protocols for routine inspections, and testing of instrumentation equipment and system following recognized engineering technical standards and cross reference with OEM manual.
- Regularly monitor checklist implementation by maintenance team including contractor to ensure precision maintenance is practiced as part of repair quality control to avoid maintenance substandard and rework.
- Take a lead and work closely with his peers from the maintenance team and technical warehouse to develop and maintain optimum spare parts for all field instrumentation and ensure adequate spares are properly managed by the EAM system.
- Monitor the execution of efficient maintenance record by reviewing the maintenance logs or e-logs maintained by the Maintenance Supervisor and Technicians, ensuring that accurate failure description, failure modes and failure rectification details are recorded for every maintenance.
- Collaborate with the Asset Management Team to plan and execute maintenance engineering projects aimed at improving Plant and Equipment Uptime.
- To participate in the strategic asset management plan championed by Asset Management Team i.e. asset lifecycle management such as holistic approach for ageing unit and obsolete item.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
- Support the professional growth of subordinates through performance reviews, training, mentoring, and coaching on a regular and structured basis.
- Develop and maintain the training plan for the instrumentation team, especially on principles and procedures pertaining to instrumentation works.
- Facilitating training and skills development programs to enhance the technical capabilities of maintenance personnel.
- Complete the closed-loop work of maintenance work tickets.
- Complete other tasks assigned by leaders.

**Job Requirements**:

- Min Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Automation engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance work in Petrochemical sites.
- Experience in high pressure, high temperature field instrumentation.
- Experience in leading a team for plant turnaround and shutdown.
- Experience in DCS and PLC.
- Knowledgeable in instrument calibration and verification, maintenance, and repair procedures to ensure accurate and reliable operating parameters including functional checks and loop testing with handheld devices.
- Familiar with relevant technical standard e.g. ISA/EN/etc.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM18,000.00 per month
