Maintenance Manager

**Purpose of the Role**

As a key member of the SILC plant engineering maintenance team, you will report directly to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for all plant maintenance-related activities, including mechanical, electrical, machinery, and projects. Collaboration with all teams within plant operations and corporate functions is essential.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Schedule and oversee all maintenance-related work by leading a team of maintenance technicians and supervisors.
- Ensure that all maintenance operations comply with company policies and OSHA guidelines, while satisfying all industry regulations.
- Control the budgets of the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Engineering and Operations.
- Forecast, order, and negotiate prices for spare parts inventory.
- Develop and implement a maintenance program and schedule.
- Coordinate the completion of complex repairs.
- Seek innovative tools and methods to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques.
- Review, check, and evaluate specifications, engineering drawings, and design concepts for new machines and equipment.
- Ensure installation work adheres to contract specifications and upgrade existing machinery systems to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Consider the implications of cost, safety, and time constraints.
- Manage and lead engineering projects assigned by superiors, including engineering studies, timeline setting, manpower arrangement, and cost control.
- Conduct machinery downtime studies and analysis for action and improvement.
- Prepare documents assigned by superiors, such as machine downtime analysis, incident investigations, maintenance schedules, power consumption reports, work instructions (WI), and standard operating procedures (SOP).

**Responsibilities**
- Maintain all machinery to ensure optimal working standards.
- Create and implement maintenance procedures.
- Prioritize safety above all else and lead efforts to improve safe work conditions and behaviors.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve issues.
- Perform both electrical and mechanical tasks as required.
- Implement a timely preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot machinery emergencies and assess emergency downtimes.
- Plan and manage all repair and installation activities.
- Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair costs.
- Ensure all department workers adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Manage stock control to ensure a safe quantity of spare parts, maintaining proper records of stock in and out.
- Oversee equipment inventory and place orders for new supplies as needed.
- Implement the 5S methodology within the maintenance team.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management, whether within or outside your current scope of employment.

**Requirements & Person Specifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments (Engineering and Operations).
- Familiarity with electrical control systems, pneumatic systems, motors and pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pressure vessels, steam piping, and machinery setup.
- Proficient in mechanical repair with strong knowledge and skills.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams and electrical and mechanical drawings of machinery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide 24-hour technical support with on-call availability for production line downtimes.
- Willingness to work shifts on weekends and public holidays.
- Strong integrity, positive attitude, and ability to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, DXF, AutoCAD) for drafting designs and technical drawings is a plus.

**Reporting Lines & Supervision**
- Direct report: Site Engineering Manager.
- Supervise: Supervisors and Technicians.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
