**_ What we’re looking for_**
- _ As part of this role, you will have to perform design appraisal activities for a variety of process, power generation and safety related equipment for compliance with Lloyd’s Register’s Classification Rules, Verification Schemes and Third-Party Certification in rotating equipment._
- _ Carry out independent review and calculations, particularly for new and novel designs which may not be fully covered by Lloyd’s Register’s existing Rules and Regulations._

**_ _**_The role_**
- _ To perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed parameters that includes budget constraints and contractual requirements._
- _ To produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in a defined format._
- _ To assess / recommend the time / value of the work to be undertaken for an internal / external client within an agreed fee / cost structure._
- _ To discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate._
- _ Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures._
- _ To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness._
- _ To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate._
- _ Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards._
- _ To make suggestions to improve service delivery effectiveness through changes to processes or work scope such that it leads to a reduction in appraisal effort (where applicable)_

**_ What you bring_**
- _
Possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a Postgraduate (MSc) in mechanical engineering with relevant industrial experience would be beneficial._
- _ Minimum 4 years of working experience within the rotating equipment teams in a design office in or compliance team in the oil and gas offshore, ideally upstream_
- _ Possess working experience with process compressors/pumps, reciprocating engines, gas and steam turbines, winches, gearings, and other rotating equipment for the oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical industries_
- _ Be familiar with the following rules and codes: Lloyd’s Register’s Offshore Rules, SOLAS, API (610-619) Pumps / Compressors / Turbines), ISO, OCIMF, NFPA_
- _ Membership of an appropriate professional institution._
- _ Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status._
- _Be willing to undertake the required training_
- _ Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work._
