Tools Specialist

The **Tools Specialist** is responsible for administering, optimizing and supporting development and security tools such as GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Nexus, GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) and other DevSecOps platforms. This role ensures that these tools are effectively integrated and utilized by development and security teams to streamline workflows, improve code quality and ensure compliance. By managing these toolchains, the role enables faster and more secure software delivery, directly supporting the organization’s development and operational objectives.

**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience may also be considered.

**Professional Experience**
- **More than 5 years of experience** in in administering and managing developer tools, CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps environments, preferably in an enterprise setting.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Nexus Repository, and security scanning tools (SAST/DAST).
- Prior experience in DevOps or Agile environments is preferred.

**Technical Skills**
- Hands-on experience in administering, configuring, integrating and maintaining tools such as GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Nexus Repository, GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Git, Git-based workflows, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps best practices and GitHub Copilot.
- Proficient in CI/CD tools and pipeline automation (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Practical experience with security tools such as GHAS, SAST, DAST and dependency scanning.
- Good understanding of artifact management practices and tools (e.g. Nexus Repository).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with experience in coordinating with vendors and support teams.
- Strong skills in documentation, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Capable of training and mentoring developers in secure coding principles and DevOps best practices.
- Demonstrates a proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

- Agile-related certifications (e.g. Scrum Master).
- CI/CD pipeline tool certifications.
