Librarian

The College Librarian is responsible for managing the library and its resources, supporting students and staff with research, and promoting a love for reading and learning. This role ensures the library meets the academic and personal needs of the college community.

**Role Model Responsibilities**:

- Promote the library and its resources to students, staff, and the wider community.
- Encourage a love for reading and literacy.
- Uphold the values and goals of the college.

**Management Responsibilities**:

- Manage the library’s budget and resources.
- Select, organize, and maintain library materials for students and staff.
- Ensure resources are easy to find through proper cataloguing and indexing.
- Work with others department to ensure library resources align with the curriculum.
- Build connections with other libraries and professionals.
- Ensure the library is safe and well-maintained.

**Teaching and Student Support**:

- Teach students about reading, research, and using library resources.
- Organize literary events and author visits for students.
- Help students and staff find and use information in the library.
- Create and teach library classes for primary students.

**Administrative and Policy Development**:

- Develop and follow a library policy that supports the college’s educational goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the library’s services and resources.
- Ensure inventory is checked during breaks and all books are accounted for.
- Assist with ordering textbooks and other educational materials.

**Other Responsibilities**:

- Assist with managing student behavior in the library.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the CEO and Registrar.
- Continue professional development to improve library services.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Degree in Library Science or related field.
- Experience in library management, preferably in education.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for reading and literacy.
- Knowledge of library systems and cataloguing.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
