Marlborough College Malaysia is looking to appoint an HR Executive who is well-qualified, committed and dedicated to supporting the smooth running of the administration and operations of the HR department. The post-holder is required to manage the overall administration, end-to-end recruitment process and other administrative tasks.
**The Role**
The school is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and dedicated Executive Business Partner to the Master (EBPM) to support the effective management of both the academic and non-academic administration of the College.
The EBPM occupies a senior and trusted position within the administration of the College, serving as a key partner to the Master in driving the smooth operation of the College’s leadership functions. The role requires the ability to work calmly and efficiently with all members of staff, parents, pupils, and external organisations, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy.
The responsibilities of the EBPM will encompass oversight of the day-to-day operations directly supporting the Master, ensuring that priorities are well-coordinated, communication channels remain clear, and administrative processes are effectively managed. In addition, the EBPM will provide collaborative assistance to other PAs and administrators as required, contributing to the seamless delivery of administrative support across the College.
**Key Responsibilities**
The Executive Assistant to the Master (EBPM) plays a pivotal role in supporting the strategic leadership of Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM). This role requires a highly capable professional who can operate at an executive level, ensuring the effective functioning of the Master’s Office while representing the College to both internal and external stakeholders at the highest standards.
Executive Support to the Master.
- Provide high-level strategic and operational support to the Master in delivering the College’s vision, mission, and long-term objectives.
- Manage sensitive and confidential communications on behalf of the Master, ensuring discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment at all times.
- Draft, review, and refine documentation, reports, policy papers, and formal correspondence for senior leadership, governors, regulatory authorities, and international education bodies.
- Oversee the timely execution of strategic initiatives, tracking progress and ensuring the Master is fully briefed on developments, risks, and opportunities.
- Anticipate emerging issues, proactively manage risks, and provide strategic advice that positions the College strongly within the international education sector.
Council and Governance Support
- Serve as the primary conduit between the Master and the Council, ensuring the seamless flow of information, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Lead on the organisation of Council and committee meetings, including agenda development, briefing documentation, and accurate recording of decisions and outcomes.
- Prepare and quality-assure strategic reports, presentations, and governance papers for Council and other oversight bodies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, coordinating with relevant authorities and industry organisations as required.
Senior Management Team (SMT) Liaison
- Act as the strategic coordinator between the Master and the SMT, supporting alignment of priorities and follow-through on College-wide initiatives.
- Facilitate collaboration across academic and non-academic leadership teams to ensure effective communication, implementation, and accountability.
- Monitor progress on institutional projects, ensuring the SMT remains aligned with strategic objectives and that issues are escalated and addressed appropriately.
- Represent the Master in senior-level internal discussions where necessary, ensuring continuity of leadership presence.
External Relations and International Liaison
- Act as the primary liaison with international education networks and associations, including FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia), COBIS (Council of British International Schools), and UK-based partners, enhancing the College’s reputation and global positioning.
- Coordinate with external agencies, accrediting organisations, and professional bodies to strengthen institutional compliance and credibility.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with parents, alumni, and community stakeholders to support the College’s engagement and growth.
- Represent the Master’s Office with authority and professionalism in dealings with external partners, ensuring consistency of messaging and alignment with the College’s values.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight on special projects and initiatives as directed by the Master.
