**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**1. SUMMARY OF FUNCTION**
- To assist the Propulsion Workshop Assistant Engineer in the execution of hands-on MRO Level 4 Depot Workshop activities/ tasks, such as assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, parts requisitioning, repair, and testing on the test bench.
**2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY**
2.1 **Overall duties/ responsibilities**:
2.1.1 Leading and supervising the efforts of an MRO Level 4 workshop team in assurance that all activities are completed in accordance with the team's goals and timelines, while also ensuring:
- 2.1.1.1 All tasks/ works are done in a safe and professional manner;
- 2.1.1.2 All maintenance entries on maintenance job card and work orders are properly executed;
- 2.1.1.3 Maintenance tasks include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, parts requisitioning, repair, assembly, and testing are done precisely;
- 2.1.1.4 Proper tooling and equipment are utilized, calibrated, and in good working order for the maintenance task being accomplished;
- 2.1.1.5 Collaborating with other team as well to ensure that activities are completed on time.
2.1.2 To keep accurate records of all activities for the maintenance line, including inventory and spare part management to ensure:
- 2.1.2.1 Proper tooling/ equipment and correct parts are provided;
- 2.1.2.2 Works done according to maintenance manuals and other repair specifications;
- 2.1.2.3 No defective, non-conformed, or unworthy parts are installed in any component or assembly
2.1.3 Trouble shooting and work processes enhancement;
- 2.1.3.1 Identifies problems and recommends solutions to Team Leader/ Superior;
- 2.1.3.2 Track every process to prevent errors and omissions;
- 2.1.3.3 Always working together with the other teams/supervisors for ongoing improvements and better implementation strategies;
2.1.4 Training and supervising new staff and intern through providing them with:
- 2.1.4.1 A specific job description;
- 2.1.4.2 All the resources he/she needs to get the job done;
- 2.1.4.3 Ongoing learning environment/opportunities;
- 2.1.4.4 Keeps record of each and every trainee/ intern.
2.2 **Workshop setup, preparation, and work processes**:
- 2.2.1 Assisting Propulsion Workshop Assistant Engineer in preparation and executing work processes in maintenance line based on job card and manuals;
- 2.2.2 Ascertain that the assigned maintenance line has appropriate parts, supplies, and tooling and to report back any inconsistencies or shortage;
- 2.2.3 To provide continuous feedback and troubleshooting steps to Assistant Engineer/ Engineer to fix the problems/ processes in maintenance line;
- 2.2.4 Collect data associated with the new process to see if it shows improvement and assist Assistant Engineer/ Engineer in analyzing it,
- 2.2.5 Suggest process improvements regularly.
2.3 **Depot Workshop/ Workplace housekeeping**:
- 2.3.1 Keep the depot/ workshop looking clean and organized;
- 2.3.2 Maintain and implement work standards and procedures for maintenance line housekeeping;
- 2.3.3 Enforce good housekeeping practices with respect to the parts area and the timely processing of parts disposition.
2.4 **Staffing**:
- 2.4.1 Assist Propulsion Workshop Assistant Engineer to oversee staff activity and performance;
- 2.4.2 Keep track record of each and every staff under supervision and assist in their performance annual evaluation.
2.5 **Disciplines**:
- 2.5.1 Showing up for work on time;
- 2.5.2 Treat supervisors/ peers respectfully;
- 2.5.3 Always focus on task and instruction from supervisor/ superior.
2.6 **Health and Safety in workplace**:
- 2.6.1 To lead and perform toolbox briefing to maintenance line team without fail;
- 2.6.2 To corporate and working close with safety officer pertaining safety and health in work place;
- 2.6.3 Promote and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with all company Safety Procedures;
- 2.6.4 Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
2.7 **Others**:
- 2.7.1 To carry out any other duties/ tasks assigned whenever necessary.
**3. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE**
3.1 **Mandatory requirements**
- 3.1.1 Certificate of any Engineering discipline from any recognized University;
- 3.1.2 Familiar with railways operational and engineering terms;
- 3.1.3 Deep technical understanding and capabilities in bogie structural component design.
3.2 **Desirable requirements**
- 3.2.1 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering - with design/ structural specialization;
- 3.2.2 Independent, positive thinking and able to work as a team.
**4. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS**
4.1 Familiar with railways depot environment;
4.2 Must have exceptional interpersonal skills to interface effectively with cross functional teams;
