The job description for a Special Education Teacher Internship may include the following responsibilities and qualifications: Responsibilities: - Support Classroom Activities: Assist the lead special education teacher in planning and implementing classroom activities that cater to the diverse needs of students with disabilities. - Individualized Instruction: Collaborate with the lead teacher to provide one-on-one or small group instruction based on students' IEP and AIP goals and learning styles. - Behavior Management: Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment by implementing behavior management strategies and reinforcing appropriate behaviors. - Curriculum Adaptation: Adapt and modify instructional materials to ensure accessibility and meaningful participation for all students in the classroom. - Data Collection: Assist in gathering and documenting student performance data to track progress and inform instructional decisions. - IEP and AIP Implementation: Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of Early Intervention Program (EIP) and Advance Intervention Program (AIP) for students with disabilities. - Parent Communication: Participate in parent-teacher conferences, meetings, and communication regarding student progress, goals, and strategies. - Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, support staff, and other stakeholders to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students. - Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices.
