The Product Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product costing within the manufacturing organization.

This role involves analyzing and reporting on current and future product costs, facilitating cost control measures, and providing strategic insights to improve profitability.

The manager will ensure accurate costing methods are applied and will collaborate across departments to optimize costs and enhance operational efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Cost Analysis**: Evaluate product costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses, to determine pricing strategies and profitability.

2. **Budgeting**: Collaborate with finance and production teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts based on product cost analysis.

3. **Costing Techniques**: Implement and maintain appropriate costing methodologies (e.g., standard costing, activity-based costing).

4. **Reporting**: Prepare and present clear and actionable cost reports for management, including variance analysis and recommendations.

5. **Continuous Improvement**: Identify areas for cost savings and process improvements; initiate cost reduction projects and monitor their effectiveness.

6. **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Work closely with product development, engineering, and supply chain departments to assess product design and manufacturing processes for cost implications.

7. **Training & Development**: Train and mentor junior staff in costing processes and financial analysis.

8. **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and industry standards related to product costing.

9. **Market Research**: Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis to understand pricing trends and competitor positioning.

**Requirements**:
1. **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.

2. **Experience**: A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in cost accounting or product costing within a manufacturing environment.

3. **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

4. **Analytical Skills**: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

5. **Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills to present complex financial data effectively to various stakeholders.

6. **Project Management**: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

7. **Interpersonal Skills**: Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities, with a results-oriented mindset. This role plays a critical role in the financial health of the organization, providing insights and analyses that guide strategic business decisions.
