Medical Liaison Officer

**Job Overview**
The Medical Liaison Officer (MLO) in the Medical Affairs Department will act as a key bridge between medical professionals, claims adjusters, legal teams, and other stakeholders involved in motor bodily injury claims. This role is critical for ensuring the medical validity, accuracy, and consistency of injury reporting and medical evaluations associated with motor vehicle accidents. The MLO will provide expert medical guidance on claims, assist in the assessment of the severity of injuries, and ensure proper documentation to support decision-making processes within the claims management workflow.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Medical Report Management and Review
- Asses the completeness and appropriateness of the initial medical assessments.
- Conduct comprehensive, detailed and thorough reviews of medical records
- Evaluate the claimant's reportand verify the needs of the treatment options
- Prepare detailed, clear, and accurate medical reports for claims adjusters, legal teams, and other stakeholders, outlining the nature and severity of injuries sustained
Liaison between Stakeholders
- Serve as the primary medical contact for the claims department, external medical professional, and healthcare providers.
- Provide clarification and additional medical input in case of disputes or discrepancies between claimants and insurers.
- Communicate directly with all relevant parties by conducting online consultations and maintaining good collaborations.
Education and Training
- Conduct training sessions for claims personnel to enhance their understanding of medical terminology, injury severity levels, and medical claims assessments
- Offer regular workshops or forums on the medical aspects of bodily injury claims
- Keep updated on trends or advancements in medical treatments for common injuries.
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate reports on trends in motor bodily injury claims, including common injuries, treatment patterns, and recovery outcomes
- Analyze medical data to identify quantum of cases for big claims and multispecialty
**Key Requirements**:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical (MD), or other relevant healthcare qualifications
- At least 2+ years of experience in medical affairs, or insurance claims management
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, injury classifications, and motor vehicle accident-related injuries
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with both medical and non-medical stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating medical records for claims management
- Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in documentation and reporting
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
