Our client is a large international shipping business who have ships such as LNG, chemical and bulk. They have offices in nearly every core shipping country in the world and with their international presence they are considered a highly sought after business to work for. Due to internal promotion our client is looking to hire in their Malaysian Office.

The role our client is seeking to fill is a Vessel Manager where you will be overseeing the technical management of a small group of LNG ships. This will require you to be in daily contact with the ships in your charge to ensure that the engineering crew on-board are keeping the ship in a consistent state of good repair. You will deal with budgets for repair work and oversee remotely repairs completed to ensure they are up to your standards. You will negotiate with yards and suppliers to try and gain services and parts at the best possible price. You will review crew performance and deal with all marine accidents that may occur during the course of everyday sailing. Obviously, you will be involved in planning and overseeing all dry dockings of your ships and do routine inspections and audits of them.

To fit this role, you will possess the below:

- Holding a Class One Certificate of competency
- Previous service as a 2nd Engineer or Chief Engineer on board either LNG or LPG ships plus
- 3 years’ service on shore in a similar role of Superintendent/Vessel Manager OR
- Previous service as a 2nd Engineer or Chief Engineer with Liquid cargo plus
- Able to relocate to Malaysia.
