Urban Designer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Urban Graphics Designer to join our team at AJC PLANNING CONSULTANTS SDN BHD'. As an Urban Graphics Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling and impactful designs that support our urban planning and development projects. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

What you'll be doing

1. Urban Design Development
- Collaborate with architects, planners, and stakeholders to develop urban design concepts and master plans.
- Design and propose innovative solutions for public spaces, streetscapes, parks, and urban infrastructure.
- Conduct site analysis, including land use, zoning, and environmental considerations.
- Prepare design reports, guidelines and standards for urban development projects.
- Ensure designs align with sustainability, accessibility, and community needs.

2. Graphic Design and Visualization
- Create high-quality visual representations of urban design projects using advanced graphics software.
- Develop 2D and 3D renderings, diagrams, and maps to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Produce presentation materials, including posters, brochures, and digital presentations.
- Use graphic design tools to enhance the aesthetic appeal and clarity of urban design proposals.
- Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to create visually engaging content for public outreach and stakeholder engagement.

3. Software Proficiency

Utilize industry-standard software for urban design and graphic visualization, such as:

- 3D Modelling
- Graphic Design: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), CorelDRAW
- CAD Software
- GIS Tools
- Presentation Tools: PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi
- Stay updated on emerging software and tools to improve design efficiency and quality.

4. Collaboration and Communication**
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, engineers and planners.
- Present design concepts to clients, stakeholders, and public officials in a clear and compelling manner.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders into design revisions.
- Participate in community engagement sessions and public consultations.

5. Research and Analysis
- Conduct research on urban design trends, best practices, and innovative technologies.
- Analyse demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform design decisions.
- Prepare reports and case studies to support design proposals.

6. Project Management
- Manage multiple urban design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and government agencies during project implementation.
- Monitor project progress and address design-related issues during construction.

7. Compliance and Standards
- Ensure designs comply with local zoning laws, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Incorporate universal design principles to create inclusive and accessible urban spaces.
- Adhere to sustainability standards and green building practices.

What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in urban design and master planning projects.
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in graphic design and visualization.
- Proficiency in graphic design and urban design software
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of urban planning principles, sustainability, and place making.

Additional Requirements (Optional):

- Experience in public sector projects or community-driven design initiatives.
- Familiarity with data-driven design tools and parametric modelling.
- Knowledge of urban economics and real estate development.

Pay: RM2,700.00 - RM4,050.00 per month

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
