Responsibilities:
**Labour & Nursery Team Leadership**:

- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff in the Labour and Nursery unit, fostering a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
- Ensure effective communication and teamwork among nursing staff, obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals in the Labour and Nursery areas.
- Act as a role model, guiding nursing staff in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to mothers and newborns.

**Clinical Oversight**:

- Collaborate with obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, neonatologists, and pediatric specialists to ensure the highest standards of care in the Labour and Nursery units.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing practices in the Labour and Nursery areas to ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
- Stay updated on current clinical guidelines and integrate them into daily operations to enhance maternal and neonatal care.

**Staff Recruitment and Development**:

- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff in the Labour and Nursery unit, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to care for mothers and newborns.
- Implement professional development programs that enhance the nursing staff’s knowledge and skills, focusing on both maternal and newborn care.
- Promote mentorship, continuous learning, and peer support to ensure a skilled, motivated nursing team.

**Quality Improvement**:

- Lead initiatives to improve the quality and safety of maternal and neonatal care provided in the Labour and Nursery unit.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance & Risk Manager to implement quality improvement programs specific to maternal, neonatal, and postnatal care.
- Monitor patient outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and work with the team to develop and implement solutions to enhance care delivery.

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Ensure nursing practices in the Labour and Nursery unit comply with Malaysian healthcare regulations, obstetric and neonatal care guidelines, and professional standards.
- Stay informed about updates and changes in regulations, ensuring timely integration of new practices and guidelines into departmental procedures.

**Budget Management**:

- Work with the Director of Nursing and the finance department to develop and manage the nursing budget for the Labour and Nursery unit.
- Monitor resource utilization, ensuring the efficient use of resources while maintaining a high standard of care.
- Implement cost-effective strategies without compromising patient safety and satisfaction.

**Patient Experience**:

- Focus on improving the experience of both mothers and newborns by implementing nursing practices that prioritize patient comfort, emotional support, and overall well-being.
- Address patient concerns related to nursing care, advocating for a family-centered approach that supports maternal and neonatal health.
- Ensure the Labour and Nursery unit creates a supportive and nurturing environment for mothers, families, and newborns.

**Interdisciplinary Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, midwives, and administrative leaders to optimize patient care in the Labour and Nursery units.
- Participate in hospital committees and initiatives related to maternal and neonatal services, ensuring the unit’s needs and best practices are well-represented.

**Education and Training**:

- Facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff in the Labour and Nursery unit, ensuring they stay current on the latest practices and technologies related to maternal and neonatal care.
- Support the implementation of training programs focused on maternal care, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum care, and other specialized care for mothers and newborns.
- Organize workshops, in-service training, and conferences to enhance the knowledge and skills of nursing staff.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
