**Responsibilities**:
**O&G Ward Team Leadership**:
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff in the O&G ward, fostering a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
- Ensure effective communication and teamwork among O&G nursing staff, obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Act as a role model for the nursing team, promoting high standards of clinical practice and compassionate care for women’s health.
**Clinical Oversight**:
- Collaborate with obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care in the O&G ward.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing practices in the ward, ensuring adherence to evidence-based guidelines and best practices in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Stay informed on the latest clinical guidelines and medical advancements in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, and integrate them into daily care delivery.
**Staff Recruitment and Development**:
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff in the O&G ward, ensuring the team possesses the necessary clinical skills and knowledge to care for women’s health.
- Implement professional development programs to enhance the skills of the O&G nursing staff, with a focus on both obstetric and gynecological care.
- Promote mentorship and provide continuous learning opportunities to foster career growth and job satisfaction among the team.
**Quality Improvement**:
- Lead initiatives to improve the quality and safety of care provided in the O&G ward, including both obstetric and gynecological care.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance & Risk Manager to implement quality improvement programs specific to O&G services.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement strategies for continuous improvement, ensuring optimal care for patients.
**Regulatory Compliance**:
- Ensure nursing practices in the O&G ward comply with Malaysian healthcare regulations, obstetric and gynecological care guidelines, and professional nursing standards.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations, ensuring the O&G ward maintains compliance with national and international standards of care.
**Budget Management**:
- Work with the Director of Nursing and the finance department to develop and manage the nursing budget for the O&G ward.
- Monitor resource utilization and ensure that the ward operates within budget, while maintaining high standards of care.
- Implement cost-effective strategies while focusing on maintaining quality and patient safety.
**Patient Experience**:
- Focus on improving patient satisfaction and comfort by promoting patient-centered care in the O&G ward.
- Address patient concerns related to nursing care, ensuring that patients feel supported, informed, and involved in their care decisions.
- Advocate for women’s health and ensure a compassionate, empathetic approach to all aspects of care, from admission to discharge.
**Interdisciplinary Collaboration**:
- Collaborate with obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, social workers, and administrative leaders to optimize patient care and ensure smooth hospital operations in the O&G ward.
- Participate in hospital committees and initiatives related to women’s health, ensuring the O&G ward’s needs are met and aligned with broader hospital goals.
**Education and Training**:
- Facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff in the O&G ward, ensuring they are updated on the latest practices and technologies in obstetric and gynecological care.
- Support the implementation of training programs focused on patient care during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, and gynecological procedures.
- Organize workshops, in-service training, and conferences to enhance the knowledge and clinical skills of nursing staff in the O&G unit.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
