Performs various purchasing activities and assignments requiring a high level of professional judgement, negotiation, communication, and resourcefulness. Maintains sources of external supply for key materials required to support the company’s operations.
- Purchases electrical material, lighting, components and other related material, Hand Tools, Equipment and other ad hoc items for the smooth operations of the Project teams.
- Monitors and plans assigned stock inventoried items through periodic review of the Purchasing System. Places new purchase orders, revises order quantities and reschedules due dates on existing purchase orders as required.
- Meets with local suppliers to negotiate the best quality, price, lead time and items in line with target cost and quality goals.
- Identifies and recommends potential external suppliers in accordance with guidelines set by Management and in collaboration with the Operations groups.
- Periodically interfaces with Management Team in Project Planning/ Scheduling, Manufacturing and Quality to determine short, medium and long term goals and priorities related to Purchasing.
- Determines economical order quantities for inventory purchases in order to obtain best pricing in line with established historical/standard cost and meets inventory goals. Develops vendor delivery schedule with release dates and quantities in line with company’s inventory objectives.
- Expedites past due purchase orders, communicates potential and critical supply problems to the Project Head and Management.
- Provides feedback to planners regarding expected delivery dates of critical components, material, or supplies.
- Assists the Procurement Head in supplier qualification and performance rating activities.
- Assists the Purchasing Department on any special projects.
- Acts as Internal Quality Auditor.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
