**Purpose of the Role** You will be a key member of the R&D (Entomology) team reporting directly to the Entomology Manager. You will be responsible for all research activities. You will work closely within the R&D team and occasionally across all teams within the plant operations and corporate functions. The Entomology department mainly focuses on research to optimize the breeding system of the Black Soldier Fly. The research field not only covers the biological aspects such as the life cycle, fertility, metamorphosis, & larvae nutrition, but also the technical aspects of the breeding system such as optimizing the cage’s design, modifying facilities to obtain the optimum abiotic, and developing systems for the data collection process. **Key Accountabilities** - Leading at least 1 own trials/projects per month (including designing experiments, collecting data, analysing data & writing reports). - Assists three trials/projects per week. - Propose at least two new research ideas related to BSF breeding, either from biological or mechanical aspect. **Responsibilities** - Supporting/leading experiment designs on varied topics. - Supporting/leading experiment implementations and cleaning. - Conduct data collections from experiments and factory production processes.. - Supporting/leading prototype development or simple facility modification for trials purposes. - Conducting literature reviews, collecting & analyzing data, presenting results in meetings, and writing reports - all in English. - Supporting/leading new method implementation to the operation system. - Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you by the management from time to time either within or out of your current scope of employment must perform accordingly. **Requirements & Person Specifications** - Minimum education: holding a degree in life sciences discipline (biology, entomology, animal husbandry, agriculture, aquaculture) or a degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electronics). - Working experience in insect farm, poultry farm, husbandry, and aquaculture field will have leverage, but fresh graduates with no working experience are welcomed too. - Strong English speaking and writing skills. - Strong critical thinking and evidence-based decision making. - Good teamwork, communication, and general interpersonal skills. - Not squeamish about live insects, food waste, or unpleasant smells (some practical experience in farming or animal husbandry preferred). - Willing to conduct hands-on-work in a factory environment (must be able to lift 20kg). - Creative and innovative - enjoys designing solutions to problems. - Confident building. - Enjoys designing and building tools or devices using diverse methods and materials. - Meticulous and detail-oriented: collect data, measurements, and designs experiments with great care. - Creative and innovative in solving problems or creating new processes. - Exhibits a good attitude and demonstrates interpersonal skills to work with people from different backgrounds. **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: RM2,000.00 - RM2,200.00 per month **Benefits**: - Professional development Schedule: - Day shift
