Assistant Manager, Purchasing

**Key Responsibilities**:
Procurement Operations
- Assist in planning, organizing, and managing group-wide purchasing activities to support operational needs.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure consistent supply and service.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and recommending improvements or alternatives.
- Coordinate contract renewals, supplier agreements, and tender evaluations.
Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor and analyze procurement costs to ensure cost efficiency and budget compliance.
- Support in developing strategies for cost-saving initiatives and value engineering.
Coordination & Support
- Collaborate with various departments (Operations, Finance, Engineering, Projects) to fulfill purchasing requirements.
- Liaise with the Finance Department on purchase requisition approvals, invoice verification, and payment follow-up.
- Assist in the preparation of purchasing reports, data analysis, and audit documentation.
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and guide the purchasing team in daily procurement activities.
- Ensure staff adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Provide training and support to enhance team competency and performance.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within a group or multi-division organization.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, audit procedures, and procurement best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value in price, quality, and delivery.
- Prepare and review purchase orders, quotations, and tender documents in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and ISO standards (if applicable).
- Support outlets and business units in identifying reliable suppliers and maintaining updated vendor lists.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
