About the role

As a Taxation Specialist at HYUNDAI MOTOR MALAYSIA SDN. BHD.', you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's tax compliance and planning initiatives. This full-time position is based in Tun Razak Exchange, Kuala Lumpur, and will involve working closely with the Finance and Accounting teams to ensure HYUNDAI MOTOR MALAYSIA SDN. BHD.' meets all relevant tax obligations and optimises its tax position.

What you'll be doing

  1. Prepare and review tax returns and manage tax estimates for assigned entities.
  2. Handle provisional tax submissions for year-end audit reporting process.
  3. Manage all direct & indirect tax submissions, reporting and compliance.
  4. Oversee the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  5. Assist in managing tax incentives, tax reliefs and exemptions with relevant authorities (e.g., LHDN, Customs, MIDA, MoF).
  6. Collaborate with internal teams, external tax advisors/consultants and tax authorities to address various tax-related matters, including tax audits.
  7. Compile and manage documentation requested for tax audits, tax computation and internal governance purposes, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Assist other departments on tax implications by reviewing contractual documents and transactions.
  9. Develop and maintain tax-related policies, processes and procedures for compliance purposes.
  10. Perform other tasks as assigned by the superior.

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or professional qualification (ACCA / CTIM preferred).
  2. 5-6 years' experience in tax compliance and reporting, with exposure to direct and indirect taxes, and transfer pricing.
  3. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of Malaysian Tax laws.
  4. Possess strong communication skills, analytical skills and tax problem solving skills.
  5. Good working knowledge of SAP and/or Canias system.
  6. Independent, meticulous, willingness to learn and team player.
