Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full spectrum of HR operations, including recruitment, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Manage the recruitment and selection of academic and non-academic staff in line with University needs.
- Administer employment contracts, renewals, confirmations, and promotions in accordance with policies and labour laws.
- Handle foreign staff employment matters, including expatriate visa applications and renewals.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and statutory submissions (KWSP, SOCSO, LHDN, HRD Corp).
- Manage employee relations, including counselling, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
- Implement performance appraisals and support salary reviews and career development.
- Coordinate staff training, induction, and professional development programmes.
- Review and update HR policies, procedures, and organizational structures.
- Promote a fair, transparent, and professional work culture aligned with the University's goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both spoken and written, is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Prior experience in the higher education industry is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws, HR best practices, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in managing expatriate employment passes and visa applications/renewals.
- Demonstrated capability in payroll administration, recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
- Strong analytical thinking, organizational, and time management skills.
