Core responsibilities

  • Data entry and record keeping: Enter financial data into ledgers, update accounts databases, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Accounts payable and receivable: Process vendor invoices, create and send client invoices, and handle payments.
  • Bank reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and monitor transactions for discrepancies.
  • Payroll support: Assist with payroll processing by verifying hours and benefits deductions.
  • Administrative support: Manage filing, organize financial documents, handle correspondence with clients and vendors, and perform general administrative tasks for the accounting team.
  • Reporting: Help prepare financial reports, budgets, and assist with audits.
  • Compliance: Ensure all transactions and records comply with company policies and accounting standards.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is often preferred.
