Tourist Bus Assistant

• This is a full-time job and employees must work on weekdays, weekends, public holidays and on short notice. Singles with no family/relationship commitments are preferred.
• Employees are also required to be very patient and professional with the tourists. Our offered salary is also higher than industry average to account for the higher requirements and expectations.
• Employees are also required to memorize about 20 pages of Malaysian history, with advanced English proficiency.

Qualifications & experience

• Able to understand and speak good English confidently (most of the tourists are from USA and Australia)
• Able to walk quickly with fit body will be a plus
• No experience required (but you must be willing to learn and memorize about 20 pages of Malaysian history)
• Good personal grooming and professionally dressed with shirt, long pants/jeans and covered shoes (no messy/bright-colour hair, no body piercings, no tattoo, no body odour, no smoker, no slippers, no shorts, no short skirt, no revealing clothes etc)
• Outstanding sense of responsibility (no lateness, no last-minute medical issues, no last-minute leave etc)
• Good customer service, good time management and improvisation skills (patience towards difficult tourists, no vulgarity, no throwing of temper, ability to help during unexpected situations etc)
• Able to use mobile phone confidently (you will need to know how to use Google Maps, search for information on Google, share hotspot to tourists)
• Good working attitude (willing to learn, good patience and responsible, no attitude problems, willing to work as a team etc)

Tasks & responsibilities

• Minimum guaranteed salary of RM5000 per month (RM8000++ is possible if including potential tipping from USA tourists)
• Monthly salary will auto-topup to RM5000 if you earn less than that (provided no unapproved leave, job rejection, serious complaints)
• For the avoidance of doubt, salary will be calculated as RM450 per full-day tour (18 hours, from 530am to 1130pm) or RM300 per half-day tour (12 hours, from 530am to 530pm)
• Fresh graduates are welcome, must work on weekdays, weekends, public holidays and on short notice (singles with no family/relationship commitments are preferred)
• Maximum 7 tourists per tour, assist tourists to board and alight the bus, assist bus driver to open and close the bus doors
• Assist tourists to take photos at the different places of attractions (on-site training for 3 days will be provided before start of 1st job), ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Accompany and explain history to tourists at the different places of attractions (20 pages of memory notes will be provided before start of 1st job)
• Make sure bus driver is driving safely (ie: no excessive speeding, no falling asleep etc)
• WhatsApp bus plate number to tourists before departure (1 day before), and handle small admin matters like getting tourist details and attraction tickets from supervisor etc

• Tour will start and end in Stulang Laut Johor Bahru (bus can pickup/dropoff at your house if you stay near Stulang Laut)
• Minimum guaranteed salary of RM5000 per month (RM8000++ is possible if including potential tipping from USA tourists)
• Monthly salary will auto-topup to RM5000 if you earn less than that (provided no unapproved leave, job rejection, serious complaints)
• For the avoidance of doubt, salary will be calculated as RM450 per full-day tour (18 hours, from 530am to 1130pm) or RM300 per half-day tour (12 hours, from 530am to 530pm)
• Salary will be paid twice a month (if no serious complaints from tourists), no need to wait until month end for salary
• Portable umbrellas, mini-loudspeaker, iPad, company SIM card (to contact tourists) will be provided
• Possible big tips at end of tour for good service (50% of the tourists will give big tips)
• Free breakfast + free buffet lunch (accompany tourists to eat and explain)
