Project Manager – Product Line Development & Equipment Fabrication

Location: Johor or Penang

Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

This role is perfect for someone who can
build structure from the ground up
. You will lead the creation of a new product line for water-treatment-related equipment — consolidating drawings, specifications, product bulletins, and documentation into a standardized catalog.

You will also oversee the fabrication of these systems through selected vendors, ensuring each project is delivered accurately, efficiently, and according to approved designs. The role requires strong equipment understanding, close coordination with procurement, and frequent collaboration with sales, engineering, and marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Line Creation & Standardization

  • Develop and organize a complete product line where no structured catalog currently exists.
  • Standardize product bulletins, engineering drawings, technical files, and feature definitions for water treatment systems (pre-treatment, post-treatment, and related equipment).
  • Align product standards and requirements across internal teams.
  • Work with sales and product marketing to ensure offerings meet market needs and are communicated clearly.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with the procurement manager on component sourcing, supplier qualification, and cost structures.
  • Coordinate between engineering, procurement, marketing, and sales to ensure consistent communication and execution.
  • Provide internal teams with clear product documentation and guidance.

Fabrication & Vendor Project Management

  • Manage fabrication vendors assembling system components, ensuring adherence to specifications and approved drawings.
  • Oversee project timelines, quality checks, and technical compliance throughout the fabrication process.
  • Address bottlenecks and risks proactively to keep projects on schedule.
  • Maintain strong relationships with fabrication partners to support smooth execution.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven project management experience in equipment fabrication, manufacturing, or water treatment systems.
  • Strong technical understanding of water-treatment-related equipment (pre-systems, post-systems, components).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple vendors and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration skills across procurement, engineering, marketing, and sales functions.
  • Experience organizing and standardizing product documentation is highly advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to bring structure to unstructured processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel between vendor sites and project locations as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; PMP is a plus.
