Job Purpose:-

The NPD Executive supports the New Product Development team in coordinating, documenting, and executing activities related to the design, development, validation, and launch of new plastic injection moulded products. This role ensures smooth communication between customers, tool room, production, and quality teams while maintaining project timelines and technical documentation.

Job Scope:

A. Project Coordination

  • Assist in managing NPD projects from concept to production release.
  • Coordinate with customers, toolmakers, production, and quality departments.
  • Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Support in conducting design reviews, mold trials, and product validation runs.

B. Technical Support

  • Interpret customer drawings, 3D models, and specifications.
  • Support feasibility analysis for new product designs.
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reports.
  • Record observations during mold trials and validation.
  • Help in preparing and updating Bill of Materials (BOM).

C. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain project files, approvals, and change records.
  • Document trial reports, submissions, and customer approvals.
  • Maintain records of design changes, revisions, and approvals.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal and customer meetings.

D. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Support tool room in following up on new mold readiness and modifications.
  • Coordinate with production for sample runs and first-off approvals.
  • Liaise with QA for inspection reports, dimensional checks, and product validation.
  • Communicate customer feedback to internal teams and follow up on actions.

E. Continuous Improvement

  • Suggest improvements in the NPD process flow for faster project execution.
  • Assist in benchmarking competitor products when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in plastic injection molding, tool room, or product development.

  • Technical Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of injection molding processes.

  • Understanding of mold design concepts and tooling.
  • Ability to read 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
