Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager with Payments experience to take decisions and lead change initiatives and manage stakeholder and senior management relationships. The incumbent will not be subject to close supervision and will be expected to exercise independent initiative and judgement in proactively overcoming obstacles to success, dealing with uncertainty and changing circumstances, such as interdependencies, opportunities or risks.
Your key responsibilities
- Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimizes the plan to maximize benefits and minimize risk. Ensures the baselined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule and budget are managed as outlined in Business Transformation Frameworks.
- Proactively monitors project execution to effectively identify risks/issues /dependencies as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborates and builds positive stakeholder relationships providing regular updates, obtains buy-in from the project sponsor, Steering Committee and other stakeholders for all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements.
- Analyses management reports, and derives insights from it to drive the right business decisions.
- Manages Change Adoption to ensure the change lands well and sticks, to benefits realization.
- Produce a well-defined project plan, identifying the key milestones and assigning responsibilities / resources in line with Compliance Transformation
Project Management Framework.
- Provides timely reports on project status, risks and issues, evaluating project performance based on management information using standardized metrics and templates in Clarity.
- Maintains project change control, ensuring any changes to baseline are managed through change request and all impacts are considered.
- Promotes and takes accountability for project quality; identifies opportunities to improve delivery and oversees the governance process to reduce risk and ensure effective and timely decisions are taken.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience and know-how of cross-border payments or domestic payments.
- Experience in handling large scale complex technology transformation projects.
- Experience in ISO implementation.
- Knowledge in mobile journeys, digital transformation, product/ platform launch is important.
- Experience of working with multi-country stakeholder groups. This includes diverse stakeholder groups such as Technology, Legal, Product, Compliance, Operations, Business, etc.
- Experience in Project Budgeting, Governance, Conflict Management, etc.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- At least 5+ years of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) experience is a must.
- Minimum qualifications of Bachelor's Degree in any other relevant courses.
- Understanding of key activities for Change Adoption.
- Knowledge of project management tools such as Clarity/ JIRA/ MS Project.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Experience in Change Adoption processes - Plan and implement change intervention to enable smooth transition and embed changes and transition to business as usual, from requirements gathering, communications till training of final user.
- Experience with transformation changes Design & Initiation (D&I) are an advantage.
- Strong experience/exposure in managing complex multi-market delivery, Change Framework and Requirements lifecycle management.
Project management resources should be:
1. At least 5 years of experience in PM/PMO - in both agile and non-agile ways of working
2. Experience in financial services sector, especially in Consumer, Commercial and Transaction Banking fields
3. Experience with both technology and business-related transformations, especially in business process re-engineering
4. Knowledge of banking compliance and regulatory matters
5. Able to design and operate project management tools, templates and governance
6. Able to participate/ facilitate problem solving, prioritisation and synthesising issues
7. Able to identify, escalate and resolve issues, challenges, risks
8. High ability to report and present succinctly
9. Work in cross-functional teams and thrive in dynamic environments
