Responsible to lead, support and facilitate efficient underwriting operations through project participant, process enhancement and effective production issue resolution. Knowledge of medical underwriting and the ability to perform underwriting as needed. Responsible for leadership of staff and ensure efficient and excellent operational worklow in respective area. Undertake job functions as directed by the Head of Family Underwriting (FU)and FU Team Leaders as and when required.

Job Description

  • Assist with company projects 1STMAB /Kaotim that require FU involvement and support, including requirements definition, business process improvement, change management, quality assurance, application and system configuration, and testing to ensure a successful launch.
  • Support new product launches by being involved in business requirements management, designing necessary collateral (e.g., underwriting forms/questionnaires, endorsements/exclusions), setting up product parameters in the core system for new products, conducting UAT testing, and ensuring completion of UAT testing within the given timeline.
  • Contribute to project enhancement and process documentation (e.g., deriving process workflows and SOPs), conduct user training, and adhere to project reporting requirements.
  • Underwrite Group/Individual cases within the turnaround time after receiving the complete documentation, if required.
  • Review existing processes and assess them to identify improvements that meet business and customer needs, as requested by the Head of Department.

Qualification / Requirement

  • Degree holder in related field.
  • At least 6 year-experience in Life Insurance Company and/or Takaful Operator as underwriter.
  • Experience dealing with Banca Sales, Vendor and Medical Provider.
