Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Pusing, Perak for an Assistant Safety and Environment professional. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and monitoring of health and safety programs, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations. The role also involves investigating incidents, preparing safety reports, and conducting safety training sessions. Additionally, the candidate will assist in waste management activities and support sustainable practices within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Detail Oriented and Organized
  • Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Can handle pressure and ability to navigate and ensure the safety protocols are being followed accordingly.

Duty

  • Carry out daily safety inspections around the plant and report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Ensure workers follow PPE requirements and proper Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
  • Assist in conducting toolbox meetings, fire drills, and emergency response activities.
  • Support in preparing HIRARC, Chemical Register, and Emergency Response Plan (ERP) records.
  • Monitor and record scheduled waste movement, labeling, and storage conditions at the facility.
  • Update waste inventory and assist in eSWIS data entry.
  • Ensure all scheduled waste drums and containers are properly labeled and stored according to DOE guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping at the waste storage and processing areas.
  • Support in preparation of monthly DOE and internal environmental reports.

  • Help during audits or site inspections conducted by DOE, DOSH, or management.
  • Conduct safety inductions for new staff and contractors.
  • Promote awareness of safety and environmental practices among workers.
  • Assist in managing 5s and PPE distribution.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the Compliance Manager or Plant Supervisor.
