Pico Hub Services Sdn Bhd, part of the Pico Group, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Shared Services Hub in Kuala Lumpur.

The Job:

  • Monitor and analyse project costs to ensure budget alignment.
  • Validate vendor invoices and staff expense claims (system and paperless).
  • Ensure the vendor has valid project insurance (ECI or PLI) prior to validating vendor claims.
  • Assist in calculating expenses vs. original estimates.
  • Prepare cost reports, budget adjustments, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific cost control.
  • Deliver monthly project costing reports with variance analysis to project team and management.
  • Organize and attend regular monthly meetings with Project and Finance Teams to discuss financial issues, progress, and cost controls.
  • Support financial forecasting, budgeting, risk assessment, and compliance with local authority requirements (finance and project).
  • Assist audits by providing relevant documentation.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Managing and submitting online banking transactions is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Perform ad hoc financial duties as needed.
  • May require short-term travel to support project or coordination needs.

The Person:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Exposure to project costing or management accounting is desirable.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or MIA will be considered an advantage but are not mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in Costing and Management Accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and data analysis skills with excel are also highly valuable.
  • Experience in a similar role or industry is often a plus.
