Role Purpose
The Vice President of Human Resources supports the Head of Human Capital in driving and executing the organization's people strategy. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across the full spectrum of HR functions — including talent management, organization development, total rewards, employee engagement, and HR governance — to ensure the business achieves its long-term objectives through its people.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
Partner with the Head of Human Capital in translating corporate strategy into actionable HR priorities and programs.
- Lead strategic HR initiatives that strengthen workforce capability, leadership pipeline, and organizational performance.
Act as deputy to the Head of Human Capital in executive meetings, steering committees, and cross-functional projects.
Talent and Organization Development
Oversee succession planning, talent review, and leadership development programs to ensure sustainable leadership bench strength.
- Drive initiatives that build organizational capability and readiness for digital transformation.
Champion a performance-driven culture, embedding continuous feedback and career growth mechanisms.
HR Operations and Governance
Ensure consistent HR policies, practices, and processes are aligned with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, and workforce analytics to optimize workforce productivity.
Strengthen HR governance and compliance, particularly in areas of data protection, diversity, and ethical conduct.
Rewards, Benefits, and Employee Engagement
Partner with the Total Rewards team to maintain competitive and equitable compensation structures.
- Drive engagement and well-being initiatives that promote inclusion, motivation, and a high-performance culture.
Leverage analytics to measure employee experience and retention outcomes.
Leadership and Team Management
Lead a team of HR Business Partners and functional leads across HR operations, learning, and talent management.
- Coach and develop HR team members to enhance their professional capability and readiness for future roles.
- Foster collaboration and alignment within the HR leadership team to deliver integrated people solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within banking in Malaysia.
- Strong exposure to organizational development, talent management, and HR operations implementation.
- Familiarity with HR technology, data analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence C-suite leaders and drive change across complex organizations.
