We are seeking a skilled Competent Person Grade 2 to join our elevator maintenance and installation team. You will lead safety-critical tasks, ensure code compliance, and collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to deliver reliable vertical transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and upgrade elevator systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., local elevator regulations, ASME/CSA where relevant).
  • Perform competent-person duties for safety-critical operations; authorize and supervise related activities on site.
  • Maintain accurate records for compliance, QA/QC, and warranty purposes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians; participate in training and skills development.
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, clients, and vendors; ensure on-time delivery and quality.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in elevator systems (installation, maintenance, or service) with a recognized Competent Person Grade 2 designation or local equivalent.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems common to elevators; ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards relevant to Malaysia (e.g., local elevator regulations; willingness to align with industry best practices and safety standards).
  • Valid certification/licensing as required by jurisdiction or employer policy (Competent Person Grade 2).

Education

Diploma or technical certificate in electrical/electronic engineering, electromechanical, mechatronics, or a related field.
