KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
MARKETING PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION
- Develop plan and implement marketing and student recruitment strategies and activities for designated market / region to attract domestic enrolment.
- Ensure successful field implementation of marketing and student recruitment activities for a designated market / region.
- Provide regular market feedback, recommendations on program offering to optimise student recruitment.
- Conduct research, assess and recommend recruitment opportunities through various channels.
STAFF AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- Lead and manage the team for efficient operations and performance outcomes.
- Organise and manage resources required for implementation of marketing and student recruitment activities in a designated market / region.
- Be in consultation with the Director, to plan and manage the annual budget.
- Contribute to policy development and compliance as well as with relevant procedures and workflow systems
STUDENT RECRUITMENT
- Derive student enrolment projections for designated market / region, in line with the Unit's broad objectives and growth projection of the University.
- Provide prospects with relevant and targeted advice regarding their study interests.
- Generate student enrolment of domestic students against defined targets.
- Prepare and implement, in collaboration with other relevant members in the team, specific recruitment strategies adapted to the needs of each designated market.
- Contribute to the achievement of student enrolment through effective implementation of marketing strategies and activities.
STUDENT SUPPORT
- Advise prospective students on their student admission processes to the University.
- Provide ongoing support for students as required, ensuring that their study experience is as productive and rewarding as possible.
- Collaborate with other parts of the University, assist students as required with ongoing non-academic issues such as visa matters, accommodation arrangement and assistance in settling down in new student environment.
- Ensure all interactions with students are prompt, professional, friendly and effective
LEADERSHIP
- Lead and guide staff involved in Sarawak Student Recruitment and Financial Aid.
- Set performance targets for staff and monitor progress for the achievement of these targets.
- Set and monitor professional standards for staff members.
- Monitor and report Key Metrics for all the deliverables
LIAISON AND INTERACTION
- Establish and manage relationships with external stakeholders i.e. student recruitment agents, school counsellors, school principals, feeder institutions, embassy officials and etc.
- Be in consultation with the Management, liaise extensively with corporate and government agencies in marketing of the University.
- Collaborate with colleagues to utilise synergies in marketing effectively.
- Liaise with Marketing Unit or external agencies for the production and usage of relevant marketing communication tools.
MARKET REPORTING
- Maintain appropriate records and budget for all activities, and produce regular student recruitment progress reports.
- Monitor and analyse market developments including of industry and competitors.
- Provide regular market intelligence and updates.
PROCESS MONITORING
- As a Sub-unit to drive processes towards converting prospective students into enrolled students, the effectiveness and efficiency of all processes will be critical in ensuring that services provided meet the expectations of customers.
- Monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of the through the usage of system and analytical tools to provide timely data for any process improvement and intervention will be critical for this position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, media and/or other related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Has a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Working experience in marketing, consumer brand and managing a media and creative agency with a demonstrated understanding of the challenges and strategies of managing the agencies.
- Demonstrated expertise in the formulation of integrated annual marketing strategies and tactics.
- A strong understanding of digital marketing concepts and experience in strategy and implementation in the areas of Search, Social, Customer Relationship Management platform (CRM), and Content across paid, owned and earned platforms.
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to clearly present ideas.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to manage and mentor staff with a diverse set of skills and personalities.
- Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software and digital marketing software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and negotiate with people at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in dynamic and entrepreneurial environment with the ability to manage and deliver on multiple, time-sensitive projects.
- Ability to act with discretion on matters of confidential nature and manage business stakeholders in a mature and professional manner.
- Ability to work extra hours and on weekends as required to complete assigned tasks towards the achievement of the unit's targets and KPIs.
