About the role

We are seeking a driven and innovative Packaging Development professional to join our team at Vanity Cosmeceutical Sdn Bhd. In this full-time position based in Port Klang, Selangor, you will play a crucial role in developing and improving our packaging solutions to support the company's growth and product line expansion.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conduct packaging quality tests, compatibility reviews, and light-fastness assessments.
  2. Evaluate and qualify packaging materials to meet required quality and safety standards.
  3. Maintain accurate keylines, packaging specs, and technical documentation in the Packaging Library.
  4. Follow and manage the Packaging Development Flow for all NPD/NFD projects.
  5. Organize and track packaging samples for proper storage and easy traceability.
  6. Support production trial runs for new packaging designs, materials, or suppliers.
  7. Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers to meet delivery and testing timelines.
  8. Explore and test alternative materials to drive cost savings and efficiency.
  9. Identify and assess potential new packaging suppliers across APAC.
  10. Drive continuous improvement in packaging efficiency, cost optimization, and load-ability; stay updated on new technologies.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • 1–2 years' experience in packaging development (FMCG/manufacturing preferred); fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Solid understanding of packaging materials, testing methods, and evaluation processes.
  • Familiar with material science, cosmetic/personal care packaging technologies, and regulatory/SOP requirements.
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO 9001 and Halal principles.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, project ownership, and effective cross-team communication.
  • Language proficiency to converse comfortably in a business setting with suppliers across the APAC region.
