Get To Know The Role

GXBank is looking for a skilled Data Modeler to contribute to the design and implementation of the bank's data lake. In this role, the Data Modeler will be responsible for implementing data modeling solutions in close collaboration with data engineers, data analysts, and business teams. This is essential for streamlining and supporting enterprise information management. To succeed as a Data Modeler, candidates must possess in-depth knowledge of data warehousing/data lakes and excellent communication skills. The ultimate goal for a top-tier Data Modeler is to design models that reduce data redundancy, improve data movement, and enhance overall enterprise information management.

• Work with the business and data analysts/data science to understand their data requirements and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.

• Work with the business and application development teams to define the data requirements

• Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models within the bank's data lake.

• Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.

• Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects including systems implementation and/or analytics needs.

• Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.

• Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.

• Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.

• Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.

• Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.

• Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.

The Must-Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field. 

• Fresh graduates with strong analytical skills or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in data analysis , data engineering or reporting roles.

• Experience in the financial services industry is an advantage.

• Proficiency in SQL is required

• 2+ years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using

• RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols).

• Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts required.

• Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools required.

• Experience in stakeholder management, communication, project management and presentation.

• Basic understanding of data engineering and data modeling concepts

• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages 

• Banking experience will be an added advantage.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and evolving project requirements. 

• Effective at influencing and building strong working relationships across multiple teams.

• Demonstrates initiative in providing updates and communicating progress on tasks.
