About the Role:

As a Commis 1, you will take on a key role in supporting the Chef de Partie with food preparation, cooking, and plating. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and hygiene in the kitchen, while mentoring junior staff and assisting with training. This position is ideal for someone with prior kitchen experience who wants to grow into a supervisory culinary role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Assist in menu preparation and contribute ideas for new dishes.
  • Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Supervise and guide Commis 2 and Commis 3 staff when required.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety compliance.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients to minimize wastage

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as Commis 2 or equivalent role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to lead by example and support junior team members.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM3,200.00 per month
