About the role

We are seeking an experienced Import and Purchasing Executive to join our dynamic team at NFS Furniture (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Klang District, Selangor. This full-time position will play a pivotal role in our procurement and logistics operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and goods to support our manufacturing processes.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage the import and purchasing of raw materials, components and finished goods from international suppliers
  2. Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, terms and delivery schedules
  3. Maintain accurate inventory records and monitoring stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
  4. Liaise with logistics providers to coordinate the smooth transportation and customs clearance of imported goods
  5. Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts and other procurement-related documentation
  6. Identify and evaluate new suppliers to expand our vendor network and source high-quality, cost-effective materials
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities are aligned with production, sales and financial plans

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar import/purchasing role, preferably within the manufacturing, logistics or furniture industry
  2. Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures and incoterms
  3. Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills to secure favourable terms
  4. Proficient in using procurement-related software and systems to manage orders, inventory and supplier data
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise procurement processes
  6. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  7. Fluency in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia.
