M&E ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The M&E Engineer will be responsible for coordinating, executing, and monitoring all mechanical and electrical (M&E) works across the project site — from design review and installation to testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • This role involves working closely with the M&E Manager, subcontractors, consultants, and local authorities to ensure all M&E works meet technical specifications, project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • The M&E Engineer plays a key supporting role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and functionality of all building services systems within the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning & Execution

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing all M&E works according to project requirements and construction schedules.
  • Review M&E drawings, technical documents, and material submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Monitor site progress and assist in resolving technical or installation issues through coordination with the project team and consultants.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities for all M&E systems prior to project handover.

Coordination & Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate M&E subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of site works.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and relevant authorities for inspections, approvals, and technical clarifications.
  • Verify that all M&E materials and equipment delivered to site meet specification and quality requirements before installation.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other disciplines to prevent design and installation conflicts.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure that all M&E works comply with local authority requirements, safety regulations, and the company's QHS Management System.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of M&E testing, commissioning, and inspection reports.
  • Support environmental and safety initiatives to minimize pollution and uphold workplace safety.

Reporting & Technical Support

  • Prepare and submit technical reports, daily site progress updates, and M&E status reports to the M&E Manager.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving M&E-related issues.
  • Assist in cost estimation, material take-off, and procurement coordination for M&E systems.
  • Participate in meetings with project stakeholders to report on progress and address technical concerns.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support machinery and equipment rental planning and scheduling as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the M&E Manager or Project Management Team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience in construction, property development, or related industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building services systems, including installation and commissioning practices.
  • Familiar with local codes, standards, and statutory regulations related to M&E works.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project coordination tools.
  • Good coordination, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work well with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors.

Pay: RM3, RM5,500.00 per month
