Reports To: Safety Officer / Safety Manager

Job Summary

The Safety Assistant supports the Safety Officer in implementing, monitoring, and improving workplace safety programs. This role helps ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities (Job Scope)

  1. Safety Inspections & Monitoring

  2. Assist in conducting daily/weekly/monthly workplace inspections.

  3. Check safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid boxes, emergency exits, PPE, and housekeeping conditions.

  4. Report any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or hazards to the Safety Officer.

  5. Hazard Reporting & Incident Support

  6. Manage digital hazard reporting system (QR scan submissions).

  7. Record, track, and follow up on reported hazards until closure.

  8. Assist in incident/accident investigation by collecting evidence, taking photos, and preparing basic reports.

  9. Safety Documentation & Compliance

  10. Maintain safety records such as checklists, inspection forms, training attendance, and SOP updates.

  11. Assist in preparing safety reports for management review.

  12. Ensure all safety signages, posters, and permits are up to date.

  13. Training & Awareness Activities

  14. Help organize safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and awareness campaigns.

  15. Assist in promoting good safety practices and safety culture among employees.

  16. Support emergency drills, including fire drill preparations (roll calls, guiding participants, documentation).

  17. PPE Control & Inventory

  18. Monitor PPE stock levels and prepare requests for replenishment.

  19. Issue PPE to employees and maintain PPE issuance records.

  20. Check worker compliance with PPE usage.

  21. Support Safety Improvements

  22. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve safety processes.

  23. Help implement new safety programs, procedures, and initiatives.
  24. Participate in risk assessments and join safety committee activities when required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum SPM in Occupational Safety & Health or related field (added advantage).
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA Act 1994, FMA 1967, and safety procedures.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, WhatsApp reporting, digital forms).
  • Willing to work on-site and perform field inspections.
  • Able to work shift (morning and night shift)
  • Possesses own transport

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1, RM2,000.00 per month
