DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SHE Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure HIRARC is updated from time to time.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government legislation.
  • Inspect all machines to ensure safe operation.
  • Ensure workers comply with PPE requirements.
  • Ensure all contractors are briefed and complete Permit to Work (PTW) before starting work.
  • Manage scheduled waste in compliance with regulations.
  • Organize and renew safety reports such as CHRA, CEM, Noise, Chemical Air Emission, Stack Monitoring, and Initial Base Line Monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international SHE standards.
  • Promote environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste management and energy conservation.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

  • Monitor and maintain fire equipment.
  • Conduct fire drills and related training.
  • Organize evacuation programs.
  • Organize Emergency Response Team (ERT) and First Aid Team.
  • Monitor and update First Aid boxes.
  • Organize first aid training with professional bodies.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response planning.

Safety Programs & Committee Management

  • Organize safety committee meetings in line with regulations.
  • Ensure all workers adopt safe working practices.
  • Update safety signage as required.
  • Maintain and display Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in chemical storage areas.
  • Promote 5S concept among workers at all times.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and review of SHE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and deliver SHE training and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.

Reporting, Investigation & Documentation

  • Liaise and attend meetings with HQ (KOSSAN) and prepare reports as required.
  • Conduct weekly hostel inspections and submit utilities bills.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to mitigate SHE risks.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, maintain documentation, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain SHE documentation and records (SDS, incident reports, training logs, etc.).
  • Track and report SHE performance indicators and KPIs to management.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and external stakeholders.

Others

  • Any additional tasks assigned by superior from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualification:

  1. Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

  2. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or Engineering (preferred).

  3. Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH registration (advantage).

Experience:

  1. Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in SHE roles, preferably in ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certified companies.

  2. Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance reporting.

  3. Exposure to manufacturing or construction environment preferred.

Other Personal Capabilities:

  1. Strong knowledge of occupational safety & health regulations and environmental legislation.

  2. Good communication, training, and presentation skills.

  3. Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  4. Ability to enforce rules fairly and firmly.

  5. Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  6. Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
