We're seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur team. Reporting to the KL-based Engineering Manager, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Small Business Division (SBD), a specialized division within our ERP portfolio. You'll provide technical leadership and guidance to our engineering teams across our three product suites: Unleashed, MintSoft, and ProspectSoft. Each suite delivers cloud-hosted SaaS solutions that streamline critical business operations for small and medium-sized enterprises. Your role is vital in ensuring our products maintain exceptional performance, reliability, scalability, and responsiveness to customer needs as we continue to grow and evolve our offerings across the division.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Platform Management:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across our SBD product suites (Unleashed, MintSoft, and ProspectSoft)
• Manage and optimize Azure cloud resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining performance and reliability
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for consistent, repeatable deployments
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across all environments

CI/CD & Release Management:

• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for multiple product lines
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enable faster, more reliable releases
• Coordinate release cycles and manage deployment schedules across development, staging, and production environments

Monitoring & Performance:

• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health
• Establish and track SLAs, SLOs, and key performance indicators across the product portfolio
• Conduct performance analysis and optimization to maintain responsive user experiences
• Lead incident response and post-mortem activities, driving continuous improvement
• Evaluate and implement observability platforms to enhance system visibility

Security & Compliance:

• Implement security best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines
• Manage vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts with development teams
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain secure access controls and secrets management practices

Collaboration & Leadership:

• Partner closely with engineering teams across all three product suites to understand and support their infrastructure needs
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on DevOps practices and tools
• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager on capacity planning and infrastructure roadmap
• Document processes, runbooks, and architectural decisions for knowledge sharing
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems

Automation & Innovation:

• Identify opportunities for automation to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
• Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve team productivity
• Drive adoption of DevOps best practices across the division
• Contribute to technical strategy and architecture decisions for the SBD platform

Cross-Product Initiatives:

• Support integration efforts between product suites where applicable
• Standardize DevOps practices and tooling across the division while respecting product-specific needs
• Share knowledge and best practices across product teams to elevate overall engineering standards

About You:

• 7-8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role, preferably with exposure to cloud-hosted SaaS platforms, especially on Azure.
• A foundational understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD.
• Experience with or knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and workflows.
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools and practices to ensure high availability and performance.
• An interest in or exposure to security best practices and tools to maintain and enhance security within a cloud-hosted environment.
• A collaborative spirit with strong communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams to improve development processes and resolve issues.
• Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, with a passion for staying up to date with the latest technologies and methodologies in cloud hosting and DevOps practices.
• Ability to handle on-call duties as part of a rotation, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a calm demeanour in the face of incidents.
• Advantageous Skills:
• Knowledge of Azure services and infrastructure, including experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
• Understanding of networking principles, SQL, and performance tuning to support and optimise cloud-hosted applications.
• Enthusiasm for exploring new tools and approaches to deliver better services and enhance the customer experience with the Mintsoft Product.
