Responsibilities:

• To support customers local area network (LAN) and wireless network (WiFi)
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve day to day LAN & WiFi support issues, through call tracking, communication and escalation where appropriate.
• Monitor the utilization and status of the LAN and WiFi at customer premise by using network management software & tools provided.
• Create, update, and maintain LAN, WiFi, and cabling design documentation and inventory including configuration, schematic diagram, connectivity, port mapping diagram, and equipment inventory.
• Take ownership of LAN and WiFi related issues (as part of a team) and work with 3rd Parties, internal operations support and where appropriate, determine a strategic approach to resolve issues.
• Promptly respond to the issues, deliver quality services to customers and perform incident status updates.
• Escalate support to the right parties for incidents and problem management.
• Perform preventive maintenance 1-2 times a year on the LAN and WiFi base by SLA contract to customers
• Assist customer on LAN and WiFi configuration
• Responsible for various network projects, recommend solutions to network problems and provide network design options in a multi-platform/multi-protocol environment.
• Perform network analysis and capacity planning.
• Create, Configure and Monitor NMS.
• Fine tune networks for optimal performance.
• Serve as point of escalation for network issues and complex problem resolution.
• Test and verify all changes to ensure changes occur without interruption.
• Lead, mentor and coach team members; and may instruct, direct, check and supervise their work.
• Perform related duties as assigned or requested.
• Prepared to perform on call 24/7 supports.

Requirements and Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in network support, implementation and configuration.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in a network engineering role, including knowledge of IP subnetting, routing protocols OSPF & EIGRP, layer 2 protocols, VLAN segmentations, STP, RSTP, VRRP, HSRP, ACLs, PBR, Network monitoring and troubleshooting - SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Wireshark and etc.
• Have a valid networking product certification from one or more of these principals: Cisco, Huawei, Aruba, Ruckus, Fortigate, Palo Alto, Sonicwall, Check Point Firewall & etc
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, Wireless, firewalls, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Knowledge and experience on Firewall appliance products implementation, configuration and troubleshooting, such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Sonicwall, Check Point & etc,
• Knowledge and experience on Wireless Access Points products implementation, configuration and troubleshooting, such as Aruba, Ruckus, Cisco Aeronet, Meraki, Huawei Airengine, WLAN controller & etc
• Experience with access control list (ACLs), VRF, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (CoS), and Quality of Service (QoS)
• Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, CACTI, PRTG, MRTG & etc
• Strong communications, presentation and interpersonal skills
• A team player and can work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both spoken and written. (Mandarin is an added advantage)
• Willing to travel and owns a car
• Willing to update project status frequently
• Willing to learn new technologies
