Role Overview:

WhatIf Solutions is a technology-driven company specializing in delivering scalable and innovative software and digital solutions across industries. We are seeking a Business Development Engineer to drive the growth of our industrial business segment. This role combines technical understanding with strategic business development such as identifying market opportunities, building strong client relationships, and delivering tailored hardware and IoT-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including leads, RFQs, and potential partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, system integrators, and OEMs.
  • Represent the company at exhibitions, workshops, and customer site visits.
  • Prepare professional proposals, quotations, and solution presentations.
  • Understand customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate IoT, hardware, or automation solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure technical feasibility, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence, including competitor trends and emerging technologies, to support business strategy and product planning.
  • Some hands-on activities such as equipment setup, wiring, or basic troubleshooting may be required.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities to convert opportunities into sales.
  • Solid technical understanding of IoT, electronics, and industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with Raspberry Pi, embedded systems, industrial networking, and control systems.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of OT systems such as PLCs, SCADA, and system integration is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working with system integrators, OEMs, or industrial automation clients is highly valued.
  • Willingness to travel locally or regionally for customer visits, exhibitions, and project discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/ Software Engineering (or related field).
  • Strong passion for IoT, Industry 4.0, and AI-driven technologies.
  • Responsible, self-motivated, and target-oriented personality.
  • Possess own transport and a valid driving license.
