The Sales Engineer will be responsible for selling
automation solutions
to a diverse range of industries, including
manufacturing, energy, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and others.
This role combines
technical expertise
with
sales
skills
to develop new business, manage customer relationships, and drive the growth of automation solutions, including robotics, control systems, and process automation technologies.
Job Responsibility
1. Sales and Business Development:
- Identify new sales opportunities in target industries through market research, prospecting, and networking.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, acting as their primary contact for automation solutions.
- Qualify leads and provides technical expertise to understand customer needs, proposing suitable automation solutions to solve business challenges.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations tailored to the customer's requirements.
- Negotiate and close deals, ensuring customer satisfaction while meeting sales targets.
- Track sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and maintain accurate sales records in CRM systems.
2. Technical Expertise:
- Provide in-depth product knowledge on automation systems, such as PLCs, SCADA, VFD, Software, Network and other industrial automation technologies.
- Conduct site assessments and evaluate customer processes to provide tailored automation solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to create customized solutions that meet the client's specifications and operational needs.
3. Customer Support and Relationship Management:
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring they receive expert guidance throughout the sales process and post-sales implementation.
- Offer technical support, troubleshoot issues, and recommend system upgrades or enhancements to improve automation performance.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and work to resolve any issues or concerns to foster long-term business relationships.
4. Market Intelligence and Product Development:
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the automation industry.
- Provide feedback from clients with the product development and marketing teams to help refine product offerings and improve solutions.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build brand awareness and generate leads.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or a related field) or equivalent technical experience. - 3+ years of experience in sales or business development within the automation, control systems, or related technical industries.
- Strong understanding of
automation technologies
(PLCs, SCADA, drives, sensors, etc.) and industrial applications. - Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and managing customer relationships.
- Proficient with CRM software and sales reporting tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
- This position may require
regular travel
to customer sites for presentations, demonstrations, or project oversight.
