Internship (QS, M&E Costing Admin & HR Department) PENANG ONLY

About the role

Hong Poh Engineering Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking talented and driven individuals to join our team as interns in the Quantity Surveying, Contracts, and Human Resources departments. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry and develop your skills in various aspects of project management and business operations.

As an intern, you will be exposed to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, where you will have the chance to contribute to the success of our projects, while learning from experienced professionals in your field of interest.

What you'll be doing

M&E Intern Engineer Design

• Responsible for Engineering Design by using AutoCAD software.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to meet customer requirement.
• Responsible to take measurement under special circumstances.
• Provide necessary information to PE / PM/ GM regarding HVAC design.
• Ensure the design provide on timely manner.
• Conduct analysis and testing to ensure designs meet specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical support as needed.
• To undertake any other related jobs directed by the superior from time to time.
• Responsible to work with PE/PM in preparation of complete tender submission.
• Ensure complete tender submission on time.

M&E Intern Costing Admin

• Create accurate and competitive quotations based on customer requirements, and liaise with the Project Engineer (PE) to ensure customer needs are met.
• Regularly checking and promptly respond to customer emails, maintaining professional communication.
• Ensure forward all quotation to customer on time.
• Keep customers updated with the latest PR quotations promptly.
• Prepare and compile necessary monthly reports for the department.
• Maintain an up-to-date list of pending customer Purchase Orders (PO).
• Handle payments for CIDB levies and contract stamping fees required for projects or jobs.
• To undertake other related jobs from time to time as directed by the superior.
• General admin works include filing, typing, checking and coordinate the stamping of contracts/ bonds.

QS Intern

• Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for projects.
• Support the preparation and evaluation of tender documents.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and measure quantities.
• Collaborate with the team on various QS tasks.

HR & Admin Intern

• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process.
• Support employee engagement and development initiatives.
• Help maintain employee records and HR databases.
• Collaborate with the HR team on various projects and tasks.

What we're looking for

• Current university students pursuing a degree in Quantity Surveying, M&E, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to take on new challenges
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Able to write, read and talk in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Open to those interns who stay in Penang Island.

• 确保报价及时发送给客户
• 及时向客户更新最新采购请求(PR)报价
• 编制并整理部门月度报告
• 维护客户待处理采购订单(PO)清单
• 处理 CIDB 征费及合同盖章费用
• 执行上级安排的其他相关行政工作,如文件归档、打字、核对及合同/担保盖章协调

土木计量实习生:

• 协助项目成本估算与预算编制
• 支持投标文件准备与评估
• 进行现场考察,监控进度并测量工程量
• 与团队协作完成各类计量相关任务

人力资源与行政实习生:

• 协助招聘与入职流程
• 支持员工参与与发展项目
• 协助维护员工档案与人资数据库
• 与人资团队协作完成各类项目与任务

• 正在攻读土木计量、机电工程、工程类、商业、财务或相关专业的大学生
• 具备良好的分析与解决问题能力
• 出色的沟通与人际交往技巧
• 能在团队环境中高效协作
• 对学习充满热情,愿意接受新挑战
• 能谨慎处理机密信息
• 熟练使用 Microsoft Office(Excel、Word、PowerPoint)
• 能听说读写中文,以便与中文客户沟通
• 居住在槟城岛的实习生优先考虑
