The Production Manager is a self-motivated contributor who will be responsible for the operations and processes of multiple work centers by ensuring all equipment is functioning at maximum output per the demand requirements. The Production Manager is also responsible for adherence to specified processes, execution of the production plan, and ensures that, daily, products and services are produced efficiently, at the correct amount, right cost and level of quality, and are responsible for continuous improvements. The Production Manager is classified as an Exempt employee, with an expectation of 40 hours per week, minimum, and overtime, as required to perform job functions.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

-Responsible for managing, leading, and supervising a team of Production Supervisors, machine operators, and Support Staff across all shifts and locations to achieve corporate goals and metrics.

Responsible for consistent communication to Supervisors across all shifts with the goal of maintaining a work environment which aligns with Samtec policies and standards.

Participate and manage the transfer of products from plant to plant as necessary.

Establish training and cross training plans, ensuring consistency in our processes and practices, as well as flexibility in our work force.

Define the Vision, Mission, and Objectives for the Production Department on an annual basis.

Required Experience:

-5 Years' Management Experience in a Manufacturing environment.

-Proven problem-solving abilities.

-Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.

-Must be able to lift 20 lbs. from floor to waist routinely.

-Must be able to stand for 90 minutes at a time consistently.

-Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can shift very quickly.

-Proven leadership and management abilities to grow and develop associates.

Education:

-A college degree in Engineering or other technical discipline is preferred.

-On the job & experience may be substituted, in part, for educational requirements.

Training Required:

On the job training as appropriate.
