JOB PURPOSE

The Area Sales Executive is responsible for developing and achieving volume and value objectives within an assigned territory and/or customer base. This includes efficient control of the distributor network and sales force efficiency, ensuring all activities are within budget, time, and policy parameters. Area Sales Executive will plan, implement, and monitor all sales activities within their territory as an entrepreneurial manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Identify, onboard, and manage distributors within the assigned territory.
  2. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with distributors to ensure effective channel management.
  3. Continuously seek opportunities to expand the distribution network.
  4. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets within the general trade segment.
  5. Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  6. Build and retain healthy business relations with existing customers and distributors.
  7. Identify potential areas for growth and new business opportunities.
  8. Provide periodic feedback on distributors' and customers' performance and recommend corrective actions for improvement.
  9. Manage distributor operations, including salesman and delivery route planning, active customer listing, stock holding, sell-in matrix, channel matrix, drop size by outlet type, and claims submission.
  10. Collaborate with internal teams to develop and launch new products or promotions.
  11. Monitor and analyze sales performance against targets, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  12. Conduct regular market visits to assess product visibility, pricing, and competitor activities.
  13. Provide training and support to distributors on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market trends.
  14. Address and resolve any issues or challenges faced by distributors in a timely manner.
  15. Maintain a strong understanding of the general trade market and distribution channels.
  16. Collaborate with relevant teams in the event of a product recall, executing the plan professionally to prioritize brand image and reputation while minimizing company losses and ensuring business continuity.
  17. Assist to carry out duties in complying to Company's Food Safety System, Company's Health and Safety Guidelines, Company's Policy and Procedures, etc. by maintaining, evaluating and continuous improvement.
  18. Perform task and work requirements as and when required and assigned

JOB REQUIREMENT

  1. Degree/Diploma in Marketing, communication, administration, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Minimum 3 years related working experience preferably in FMCG sector, particularly in managing distributors and leading sales forces, promoters or merchandisers.
  3. Bahasa Malaysia, English. Proficient in Mandarin is preferred.
  4. Local travel is required.
  5. High-level communication skills and proven ability to negotiate.
  6. Extrovert and able to speak in public.
  7. Capable to accept constant changes and challenges.
  8. Job will be based in Johor area.
