Senior Assistant Accountant

We are seeking an Senior Assistant Accountant (Revenue) to join our dynamic Shared Service Facility team in Kuala Lumpur. This global based role will support the regional Revenue Accountants in managing contracts processing, invoicing, revenue recognition, ultimately ensuring accurate recording of income according to accounting standards. They will be responsible for calculating margin allocations for various revenue streams, maintaining deferred income allocations and supporting the calculation of sales commissions. Their role is crucial in providing a robust professional Accounts Receivable process across Mintel, supporting and ensuring its future success.

What You Will Be Doing

• Maintain weekly revenue reconciliations for each region to support invoicing processing.
• Prepare journals for revenue accruals, deferrals, and adjustments
• Support monthly/quarterly/annual close activities including revenue recognition checks.
• Assist in the preparation of intercompany revenue matching and reconciliation.
• Support audits by preparing revenue and Accounts Receivable schedules.
• Work with regional sales teams, billing and contracts processing teams and credit control to resolve billing issues.
• Provide support to regional finance teams during budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with appropriate revenue recognition standards.
• Preparation of monthly calculation of commissions.
• Support in the enforcement of company revenue recognition policies, and contribute to process improvement.
• Assist in ad hoc financial analysis relating to pricing, customer contracts or product line.
• Work across departmental teams dealing with Sales, Legal, Customer Success, Contracts Processing and Billing teams.
• To carry-out any other ad-hoc task given by Line Manager.

Who We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Part qualified or working towards qualification (ACA, CPA or ACCA) or equivalent certification.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles particularly in Accounts Receivable and revenue recognition.
• Prior experience supporting mulit-regional or intercompany transactions.
• Intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel skills (VLookup, pivot tables, basic formulas).
• Detail-oriented mindset with a desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• MUST be flexible to work on staggered hours to support UK & US timing
• Flexible to work when required during Malaysian public holidays in which replacement holidays will be provided.
