CONSULTANT - BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER

Roles & Responsibilities

Role

The candidate will play a key role in providing consulting, programming, planning and coordinating of technical / biomedical engineering services on the medical equipment needs for our international healthcare development projects. The scope for biomedical engineering will cover all key project phases of a Design and Build Healthcare Development Project from Concept/Schematic Design, Detailed Design Development, Tendering and Constructions (technical/site coordination for equipment installation, testing & commissioning and final acceptance).

Responsibilities

• Oversee project implementation, supervision and monitoring of all projects related technical works such as preparation & coordination of pre-installation M&E engineering services requirements, for installation of medical and non-medical equipment with other Consultants (Architect, Mechanical, Electrical & Structural Engineers), site engineers & Contractors.
• Provide technical support in matters related to equipment planning and technical engineering support during project implementation.
• Familiar with the preparation of generic technical specifications for equipment and organization of project documentation.
• Liaison with equipment vendors on request and submission of catalogues, shop drawings & technical data.
• Continuous coordination with Client, Contractor and Consultants.
• Continuous updating and familiarization with the current and latest development in medical equipment/healthcare technology, equipment standards, hospital practices & safety, engineering tools, maintenance, testing and commissioning of equipment.
• Provide support and assistance to the Sr. Principal & Consultants – MT in all equipment planning and technical / biomedical related matters as required.
• Exercise care and adopt prudent practices to manage, safeguard and protect the businesses and assets of the Company.

Work Experience/Technical Knowledge Requirements

• Not less than 5 years of experience in the relevant environment/field.
• Experience in hospital construction management is an advantage.
• Understand all aspects of the job with basic site preparation knowledge in architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical services
• Well verse in medical equipment functionality and utilization & medical equipment engineering services
• Good knowledge in hospital setup with basic clinical workflow related knowledge and basic procurement background

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree holder in Biomedical Engineering or Medical Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Skills

• Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office (Microsoft WORD, EXCEL & ACCESS)
• Good communication and report writing skills
• Good organizational and administrative skill is an advantage
• Must possess good analytical skills and ability to solving work problems
• Must understand all aspects of the job, is able to work independently and yet a team player,
• Must have good initiatives or creativities and a desire to learn
• Ability to interact professionally with healthcare clients, design team members, construction teams and equipment vendors
• Sound knowledge of current medical equipment technology
• Familiarity with AUTO CAD is desirable
